Zeplin Junior {4y 4m}

🔹So, Zeplin is turning into quite the negotiator. And even worse, he's completely unafraid of our scare tactics. While we were in Rexburg last month, Zeplin was making some naughty choices. We basically told him that if he kept trying to steal cookies, we would have to "whoop him," to which he replied, "And then what!?" He was dead serious too! We tried so hard not to laugh but we did anyways. Matt and Zeplin stared each other down before Z finally turned around and left without receiving an answer from Matt. We've been dying over this for the past few weeks!

🔹I've been so proud of his independence. My only struggle is him growing up so fast that time is slipping through our fingers - he will grow up and not really want me anymore. It kills me.

🔹Zeplin is really into Plants vs. Zombies. He loves to play pretend that he's a zombie fighting with my plants. He really loves to watch me play the game on my iPad. He found a book that gives descriptions on each Zombie and the plants in the game and has been determined to learn about them.

🔹Speaking of books - he's addicted to reading. We bought him a book reader from Costco and he's been going through each of the books with the reader and loving it. It was a great purchase. His aunt Nikki also gave us a bunch of books to help with reading and I've been trying to help him learn to read. He struggles and will give up which is hard, as his mom, to work with him when he quits. When we are working on his phonics, he will tell us that he forgot what each letter sounds like so he can quit. I

🔹3/29: Just had the most magical conversation with my son - and if you think your children aren't watching you - thing again! I'm so thankful for this moment......
While getting ready this morning, Zeplin came running into my room and (word for word) said, "Mom, you always share your breakfast with me and remember that last time you pulled over and gave that man our picnic food and told me it was nice to share. You always give me food when I'm hungry so that means you are a sharer and that's a nice thing to be."

I didn't think he was paying much attention LAST WEEK when I stopped for the red headed man on the corner of Overland & Five Mile with the sign that read, Just Need Food, and gave him most of ours for the picnic we were headed to..... But Zeplin did remember.
Our children are so special for reminding us of the love, beauty and Christ-like nature we all have within us.

🔹He's the best big brother lately! Expect for when he wants something she has. He's getting better at sharing with her though.

🔹Zeplin cannot get enough of the trampoline - and even better, he is begging friends to come jump with him. Chloe came over and enjoyed the trampoline for a few minutes. Zeplin even went next door to our neighbors to ask if Bella could come jump with him - Bella is a 7th grader who is so fun and Zeplin thinks she's pretty great.

🔹Speaking of Bella.... OUR Bella is feeling better - Zeplin was feeling upset that Bella was sick and we all kind of thought maybe she was going downhill but she's bounced back and Zeplin couldn't be more thrilled.

🔹We tried to teach Zeplin to ride his bike without training wheels but he decided that it was too scary so it was short lived.
Zeplin is not a thrill seeker and he gets pretty scared in new situations. We told him that it was okay but we were not going to put his training wheels back on because he WILL learn to ride his bike this summer.

🔹Zeplin loves Karate and he's getting so much better at it. He's still a white belt and I think he will probably stay that way for awhile until he picks up his motivation to do what his DoJo says. I try to practice his moves with him every day and it's been fun to do this with him.
We received some bummer news that Dragon Bushido will be closing it's doors to the building but moving the practice to another location and time. Kyoshi's building is in need of many repairs and he just doesn't have the money to put into it so he will be renting space at a Jump House. This won't begin until May though.
