Arrowlyn Darline - {17mo)

➳We have a walker!!!
She's been taking a few steps on her own for awhile now but while we were in Idaho Falls, she got up and started walking all on her own. She still prefers to walk on her knees but still practices walking using our finger for stability (or confidence) but often times she's really good at just practicing walking when we are home.
We have to tell her all the time to get up and walk. Some times she will but often times, she will not and will shake her head at me.
Whenever Arrow walks on her knees in public, someone will always comment how strange it is. To set the record straight, our pediatrician has said that he's actually more impressed seeing her do such at 15 months because it takes a lot of core strength. I'm excited to go back in September to show off her cute duck waddle walk.

➳ Nighttime ritual is entirely one for Matt and Arrow. It's Matt's time to really spend time with his daughter so he takes 100% control of getting her bathed, changed, dressed and tucked into bed each night. I love it. Arrow used to hate going to bed and would hit Matt in the back of the head as he would lay her down but recently, she will lay down, curl up on her tummy and let him rub her back until he would leave her to sleep.
Arrow is still sleeping about 14 hours a night with a 2 hour nap. She loves her sleep and although I miss her when she's sleeping, I love to be there when she wakes up!

➳ "BOU BOU!" is Arrowlyn's words for wanting to jump on the trampoline. She loves bouncing and it's become our 'end of the day' ritual. It got too hot during the day to be outside and we like to wait until Matt gets home. Then all 4 of us climb into the net and just laugh, play and bounce around.

➳ After watching Arrowlyn play with our friends' water table, we decided to get her one. She loves it and if we are outside, she's playing in it!

➳ Arrowlyn is a super traveler. She loves to go for car rides, whether it's to Grandma's house, the mountains or anywhere. UNLESS, it's to the car wash. I knew she was afraid so I stopped taking her. But on the 3rd, Matt was home and I figured that since he was with us, she would be calm - and it wasn't the case. She was terrified. Matt and I felt horrible. She only felt comfort from her daddy when he would reach his arm back to her, which she was grasp and wrap her arms around his. Matt even asked her if she though the car wash was scary and she replied, with a whimper in her voice, "Yeah."

➳ Arrow is becoming clingy to me. Especially right now because she's getting some new teeth so she whines and cries if ever I leave her. I take that back - She SCREAMS and cries.
She is usually very loving to others, especially her grandma. . . When she's not begging for me.
I try really hard to push her onto other people so she can get over this change of attitude but on the flip side, it's endearing to see her love her "mommy" so much!

➳ Arrow is getting to an age where she has a bit of an attitude but she also knows exactly what she wants. She's really fun to ask questions and see her respond with Yes or No. She knows when she wants to go to bed and will tell us that it's nap time or bed time.
She's also very determined to do things her way. It's cute now but I'm nervous to see what she will be like when she's older.

➳ Our favorite change in Arrow is her sweet way of wanting to always look cute. She loves her hair done in bows. She is always bringing me a hair brush or finger nail clippers or shoes. It's simply adorable.

➳ Arrow loves the puppies. All animals actually. Right now her favorite thing to watch is Clifford the Big Red Dog. She tells us that puppies say woof woof. She loves the guniea pig at the Library. Her name is Ziggy, which Arrowlyn loves to repeat to us.

➳ Arrowlyn can say, "Hi, Happy, Puppy and Owie" very well and usually over and over! lol. She also says Maui and Moana (Mow and Oana)

➳ Her favorite movie is Trolls and she loves Rock and Roll. She even shakes her head 'no' when anything on the radio plays that doesn't have a strong guitar or tough beat. She LOVES when her daddy plays the guitar or when I play the ukulele!
