What a joy it is to know of God's promise to be adopted into His family of believers when we become followers of Him. (Ephesians 1:5/Romans 8:15)
For a little over a year now, we have been joining with a group of 10+ families every Monday night to share a meal together, study the Bible and worship God. We've become close. We share 'life' together... which is why we are called a Life Group. We are a group of families that live close to each other. We look after each other, pray for each other and practice God's commandment to love our neighbors.
When Covid hit, we rolled with the punches and used Zoom to continue our meet-ups. During one of those Zoom meetings we decided to do a Life Group camping trip to Silver Creek plunge. Matt offered to set it up and make it easy for all of us to get there. 7 of the 10+ families were able to join.
Finally on the 10th of July, we all loaded up and one by one, made our way up to Silver Creek passed Garden Valley/Crouch.
We caravanned up with the Pattersons. We stopped at Crouch for lunch at our favorite burger place - Two Rivers Grill. After lunch, we made our way to the camp, getting there about the same time at the Colemans. Shortly to follow arrived the Timmons, Thomas', Cragers and Asays.
Once we all set up, we swam, fished, explored and visited! By night, we had a camp fire and shared s'mores.

It was unusually cold that night. We all slept uncomfortably cold. But we were eager to eat breakfast and rush to the pool. Silver Creek Plunge is quite possibly one of our favorite places and it didn't disappoint the group either. We laughed, swam and visited most of the morning until it was time to go back to camp to eat lunch.
After gobbling our lunch, we dispersed to go fishing, swim in the creek, nap and ride motorcycles. Matt caught our family's first fish, a native brook trout, but then I couldn't go without catching one - pulling out a 12 inch Rainbow Trout.
We finished the night with more motorcycle riding, swimming and a tasty potluck dinner. After dinner, we dispersed a little so families could have some time as families. We went to bed before midnight which was amazing compared the the 12:30 bedtime the night before.
Our spirits got a little damped when the Timmons van was leaking fluids and our truck got a flat tire when one of the kids accidentally ran into it with our little red motorcycle, slashing the side wall. Everyone loaded up and headed out by 11am but we had to wait for Matt's brother Jeremy to take a trip to us, carrying one of his spare truck tires we've been storing in the garage.
But it turned out to be a big blessing because my little boy decided to bait his own hook, throw in his own fishing pole into the creek, catch & reel in his own fish for the first time!!! It was a beautiful fish too. Zeplin wanted to keep it so I had to unhook it and kill it (a first for me too) since Matt was changing the tire. It was perfect timing because Matt came back shortly after to clean it out. We brought it back to camp, threw it in the cooler with the other fish and finally headed home!!

After a quick stop to get lunch at Garden Valley, we were home by 3pm.
We cleaned up, showered and spent the rest of the evening resting at home.
Everyone made it home safely and we all had such a great time. I loved visiting with the ladies and getting to know their kids and families. I can't wait to do it again.
