I open my blog every so often just to listen to the music too .. lol.
I don't even know what's on the radio any more. If there is a new song or artist out, I don't know about them.. and, to be honest, I'm okay with that.
Our music preference in the Clark House is very eclectic and 100% country music free unless it's the old stuff like Merle Haggard, or Johnny Cash. As soon as country started sounding more like Hick Hop and less like music, I shut it off completely.
When popular music started filling my speakers about ‘twerking it’, one night stands, bitches, hoes, getting drunk and anacondas, I tuned it out too.
I'm not being prude... besides, we all know “The lemon song” by Led Zeppelin isn't wholesome by any means but music just isn't what it used to be and I'm not comfortable with listening to the garbage that society calls music anymore.
I believe.....There are too many performers
and not enough artists.
Too many screamers and not enough musicians.

Whatever happened to people learning an instrument? I love John Mayer, Sara Barrielles, Jason Mraz and Norah Jones (& others like them) for the fact that they are true artists who have mastered, studied and perfected their craft. Learning an instrument is hard.... I know how to play the guitar, trombone and clarinet but I wish I could play more! Then there is Matt... he's so musically talented... he could stick a kazoo in his butt and make it sound like a masterpiece.
Old classic rock, grunge, blues, rockabilly, old punk will always have my heart. I remember belting Aerosmith in my college dorm with Tasha and singing karaoke with my team to Def Leppard at Nationals softball. My college walk out song (for softball) was Def Leppard, Pour Some Sugar on Me...... hahaha.
My cd albums are full of Journey, Def Lep, Bush, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, ACDC and so much more like it.
Some people I've talked to have argued that their aren't any beautiful love songs in classic rock. I beg to differ completely. Have you ever listened to Thank You by Led Zeppelin? If you struggle to listen to the harshness of an electric guitar, listen to Chris Cornell's cover. It's beautiful!!
"Thank You"
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.
Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more.
Little drops of rain whisper of the pain, tears of loves lost in the days gone by.
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong,
together we shall go until we die. My, my, my.
An inspiration is what you are to me, inspiration, look... see.
And so today, my world it smiles, your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done, for you to me are the only one.
Happiness, no more be sad, happiness....I'm glad.
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.
Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more.

Matt's favorite song that reminds him of me is Stevie Ray Vaughn's, Pride and Joy. I love when he plays it on the guitar for me!!
