About this trip. . . . We left around 1:30pm on Friday the 4th and hurried our way over to my brothers house in Lehi, Utah. It's a 6 hour and we made surprisingly good time. Both kiddos were really good even when Arrow only took a 30 minute nap.
My brother, Robert, was quick to grab Arrow from us and snuggle with her until it was time to put the kids to bed. She was super happy to spend time with my brother. It was cute to watch them.
Our trip to Utah was mainly because my sister, Melissa was in Utah. We haven't seen her family since they moved to Texas so the fact that they were going to be 6 hours away instead of 24 was perfect.
Most of Saturday was spent exploring at the zoo and the aquarium which I already posted about but then that afternoon/evening, we went to my brother in law's parents for Nick's birthday. It was a fantastic BBQ and we had a lot of fun. My nephew, Kaiden, showed up too and it was great to see him.
Of course, it was great to see Nick too - (I'd already spent time with my sister and her kids at the aquarium.) Nick and I have a fun friendship. We tend to pick on each other a lot but it's been that way since day 1.
After the BBQ, we went back to Roberts house where he gifted my kiddos some fun toys.
Sunday morning, Matt and I headed to his childhood friend's house for breakfast. Brian and Matt have been friends since they were 10 and I just love when they get together. They're both such talented musicians and have so much in common. Their family is so adorable too!!
We stayed until well after lunch and then went to Ikea for a little shopping therapy.
After Ikea, we went back to my brother's home where my sister and family were at so we could spent some more time together. It was actually kind of boring. We tried to play some games but I think we were all so tired from all the activities we'd done that it was nice to just relax.
When the Vance family left, my little Arrow livened up immensely.
Robert played 52 card pick up with her and she was having a blast! She laughed, danced and clapped then helped pick up the cards afterwards. We couldn't stop laughing.
We were even giggling when I told her to go show her uncle Robert her pretty painted toes.... She walked over to him, leaned up against his seat and lifted her little chubby foot into his face so he could see. It was adorable!!!
When we left Monday morning, it was chaos. Zeplin had thrown up all over the floor and laid in it all night. It didn't even wake him up. Matt was kind enough to clean it up while I cleaned up Zeplin and my mom helped with Arrow.
Arrow was cuddly and sweet with my brother when we left.
Once we left Lehi, we headed back to Sandy to Black Bear Diner for breakfast with Nick, his parents and my sister (fam). Afterwards, we were officially on our way.
The trip home was rough but we were happy to be home once we finally made it.
The weekend went by way too fast. I wish we could have spent more time with my sister but it was refreshing to spend time with them.
