We decided we wanted to do something a little bigger this year for Arrowlyn and it worked out that Arrowlyn's best buddy, Hank, is 1 year and 3 days older than Arrow so we decided to do a joint party with the Pattersons.
Megan and Ryan, with their three kiddos, Thatcher, Hank and Virgina came over around 9am so we could finish getting ready and share breakfast with each other. It was such a great time as we prepared for the party.
Hank invited his buddy Levi and Arrowlyn invited her friends, Olive and Lennon. The friends and siblings all played and played while the adults, (Ryan's parents, my mom, Matt's brothers Jeremy and Randon and Nancy) all visited. We were so thrilled to have our friends over that we just let our sweet little ones run around and enjoy themselves.
Eventually, we wrangled the kids for a birthday song, cake and presents.
We were genuinely so thrilled to have shared the day with the Patterson family. We adore their sweet little ones and the friendship with Megan and Ryan is sincere.
That night, Matt set up Arrowlyn's birthday present and we went to bed to try and muster up more energy for Arrowlyn's real birthday today!
Arrowlyn woke up way too early because she couldn't stop coughing. It was such a rough morning. Arrowlyn started to sport a little fever so I wrestled with her to take some Tylenol. Eventually we all just woke up and got ready in time for the 9am service. Arrowlyn was thrilled to be in a new classroom as she moved from the toddler class to the preschool class.
After church, we started a family birthday celebrations.
Arrowlyn got to experience Build-a-Bear for the first time. She was so darling as she picked out her bear and went through the instructions for stuffing and washing her new bear.
After the mall, we went to Red Robin for a birthday lunch and treat. Arrowlyn was all smiles when the staff sang happy birthday to her. She loved it, but it embarrassed Zeplin. lol.
Unfortunately, as the afternoon went on, Arrowlyn started to go downhill. She was exhausted form her 5:30am wake up call. Because she was so tired, she took a nap and spent the rest of the day in her jammies!
By 7:45pm, Arrowlyn was ready for bed. I think she had a full 2 days of fun and celebrations. I hope she sleeps well tonight.
Tomorrow starts her first full day of being 4 years old!!
