It almost seems unreal that Matt and I have been together for almost a decade. Considering how quickly we got married. Over the past few years, we've been celebrating our anniversary with our children. We enjoy being with them and they're getting old enough that it's actually fun to be with them.We woke up to a lovely breakfast from Zeplin. He wrote us each a card and buttered a piece of mildly toasted bread with water. It was darling and really put a smile on our faces!
Matt reserved a motel room at the Terrace Lakes Resort for Wednesday through Friday. Wednesday afternoon, we loaded up the family and our stuff and took off for Garden Valley.
The drive was gorgeous. The hills of Horseshoe Bend were all green from the spring rains and melted snow. The kids, unfortunately, couldn't see the beauty of the valley as they asked, every 10 minutes, "are we there yet?"
Once we were there, the questions stopped and we officially began our vacation. We had to switch from a motel room to a cabin because the room was too small for our two kids to sleep on the floor. The cabin had a fridge and a pull out bed so it made the $20 uncharge worth it. We took some time getting comfy before eventually taking off for a great little bike ride around the valley.
Zeplin muscled through some tough hills and I was so very proud of him. It was a hard bike ride but he did it!! After the ride, we headed back to the lodge to have dinner before heading back to the cabin to relax. Arrow was messing around the bathroom and pulled the shower curtain rod onto her forehead, leaving a awesome welt between her eyes.
Matt and I left the littles for 20 minutes to have some alone time before the sun went down. It was a great day ... rightfully so since it was our actual anniversary.

Thursday was super amazing too. We woke up, age breakfast and headed, quickly, to the pool. We were the only ones there for a couple hours.
The water was so warm and comfortable. I didn't want to leave but we were getting so hungry that I wouldn't last another minute. We had a small picnic in the lawn of the resort then loaded up to drive into Crouch for a quick walk around the town. We even got to spend a little time on the playground since it wasn't taped off.

We finished the afternoon with another swim at the Resort and it might have been a mistake. It was hot outside and the pool was hot. Almost uncomfortable. We spent another hour or so in the water before going back to Crouch for dinner. We were exhausted afterwards and decided to finish the night with a family movie at the cabin.
We were genuinely so exhausted that Friday morning, we ended up just loading up the car and heading home. It was nice to be home ... and nice to spend another 3 days at home before real life started again.
Happy anniversary to our family. It was a lovely week for a lovely celebration!
