Arrowlyn has had heart set on this dance for weeks. We weren't even sure if she would make it after coming down with Influenza A and fighting a 103-104 fever for 4 days. Finally, Friday morning, her fever broke and we told her that she could go to the dance if her fever didn't spike again. She was in luck.
Saturday morning, I took her dress shopping. We bought her a cute little dress, shoes and tights. Then we found a fun little purse to match so she could take some chapstick and tissues. 4 hours before the dance, Arrow was completely dressed and ready to go. I often had to tell her it wasn't time yet and to take her dress off until Dad was ready.
Matt finished getting ready and slipped away to buy Arrow some flowers with chocolates before whisking her away to dinner and the dance.
Zeplin and I used the time together, going to dinner and hanging out at home, waiting for Arrow and Matt to come back.
Besides, a residual cough and drippy nose, Arrowlyn said she had an amazing time with her daddy.
Matt encouraged her to go out and dance with some her girl friends but she just wanted to dance with her daddy.
